FLS in gantry move

Ty Wilson named Big Cheese Athlete of the Week

first_imgby Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — Ty Wilson, a junior for the Wellington High School golf team, has been named Big Cheese Athlete of the Week.Wilson had a sensational week, racking up two seconds in both the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Div. II tournament at Hesston and then, more importantly, at the Independence Class 4A Regional. He helped the Wellington golf team to its first state qualifying performance since 2011. All six starting WHS golfers will be competing in the Class 4A State Tournament in Wamego next Monday.Wilson shot a 74 in Hesston, three over par, losing only to Peyton Austin, Woody Austin’s son, who shot a 71. Then this Monday, Wilson shot a four-over par 75 score, placing second.For his effort, Wilson receives a FREE large delicious Big Cheese Pizza at 324 N.
