West Florida Women’s Soccer vs. Saint Leo on Friday Cancelled

first_img PENSACOLA, Fla. – The West Florida women’s soccer game against Saint Leo scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4 has been cancelled.  The Saint Leo women’s soccer team has several student-athletes who are exhibiting flu-like symptoms that could be indicative of the H1N1 virus infection and, as a result, the Lions have canceled their upcoming matches this weekend against UWF and Delta State.”Five players from our team have experienced flu-like symptoms,” said Saint Leo Head Coach Ged O’Connor. “It’s obviously not a good thing to happen to us right now.  We need to compete more than anything else, but on the other side, we don’t have any other options. These things happen.  It’s unfortunate, but it’s the only thing we can do right now to keep everyone safe.”The UWF women’s soccer team will be back in action on Saturday, September 5 against NAIA opponent Warner Pacific.  To follow all the action via live stats and a live audio broadcast, visit www.GoArgos.com.
